Ride 6: easy climbing

Today I woke up early to leave at 7:00 and catch the sunrise  it is a great moment of the day and I’m always amazed by the amount of people I see doing sports so early here in Alicante. Really nice. Not much else to say other than I rode “blind”. No bike computer on the handlebar to see speed and time. And no heart rate monitor. So, rode on feeling and after that almost two hours of Fronton and some laps on the swimming pool. Ready for lunch! 😬

About not having heart rate. The Garmin HR belt stopped working.  This thing os not even fully 6 months old and it is already stopping working  Really unreliable. I really like the bike computer but the bekt is bad and not exactly cheap. It stopped working, then the battery only lasted for 2 or 3 days and now stopped working even with new batteries. Really annoying.

Anyway see below some pictures.

Profile from home to Cuevas de Canelobre. Mostly climbing all the way there.

Top of the 2,5 kms climb with max of 12% and mostly around 9% gradient.

Who takes selfies on a 12% climb? Idiots, thats who does that.

Today the ride was with the bike of my brother in law. A Trek Emonda 52 cm with gravel tires. Nice bike. A little small for me in reality but it wasn't too bad for a short ride. I’m right between 54 and 56 cms frame size and usuallu have a 12 cm stem. I just could stand on the climb because I would be too much over the front wheel and anyway happy that I could use it.
