BACK TO THE ROAD

Nice ride today. Since the Etape I only managed to commute once and do a little interval session. So, I was missing a lot going out and do a relax ride while still pushing a little. With no daddy duties today I decided to enjoy the week vacation and took the chance to go for a 80 kms and enjoy the great weather.

Uma volta boa hoje. Desde a Etape eu só consegui ir uma vez ao trabalho de bicicleta e fazer uma sessão curta de intervalo. Estava sentindo falta de sair para um treino e relaxar. Como estava sozinho hoje, resolvi aproveitar um pouco a semana de férias e saí para uma volta de 80 kms e aproveitar o clima excelente.

During this year training season, the Lekdijk in the direction of Wijk bij Duursteed has been my most constant ride. Today, I had decided to go for a route that I haven’t done for quite some time. Ride 40 kms towards Gorichem and turn around. It is mostly done in the inside roads.

But when I reached the dike I couldn’t resist and went up straight to it. To avoid repeating once again the same route I got the dike to the other side and went in the direction of Lexmond and Langerak. I haven’t done that piece of road for at least 6 years as it wasn’t a nice tarmac surface. I was happy to find out that they have cover the road and the surface is perfect.

I kept the heart rate around end of zone 3 beginning of zone 4 and pushed against the wind. On the 40 kms, did a quick stop and enjoy a little break before starting the way back. Nice view, sun shining and a perfect road. What else?! In total, 80 kms in 2h40 minutes. Nice.
