Rondweg in Amersfoort: 5.5% gradient and always a good measure of fitness.

First long ride of the year. 93 kilometers around the Utrecht Heuvelrug in 4 hours 15 minutes in a Sunny cold winter day. I’m still struggling to keep a good speed but much better than last weekend and with less pain in the back.

  Primeira volta longa do ano: 93 quilômetros em 4 horas e 15 minutos num domingo de sol. Eu ainda estou sofrendo em manter minha performance e uma boa velocidade mas já foi melhor que no final de semana passada e com menos dor.

I left home and went direction Hilversum where I met the guys at work. So, the first 25 kms were easy going because from the beginning I knew I was getting myself in a difficult position. The group was strong and they have already put quite some kilometers.

They started pushing for a regular speed, nothing too crazy, but my heart rate was already jumping to 175 bpm. I was going up to 180 bpm just to keep up with the team when the speed was around 32 km/h. Luckily others were having a difficult time and we split the team in two after Amersfoort. So the fast guys could keep on going and we could relax.

From there we kept on going towards Doorn and finally back to Utrecht. My back reacted really well and the exercise the physiotherapist gave me is really resulting.
  Eu sai de casa na direção de Hilversum onde encontrei o pessoal do trabalho. Os primeiros 25 kms foram fáceis já que eu já sabia que o treino ia ser pesado e eu ia sofrer. O grupo já vem treinando há algum tempo e colocado vários quilômetros na minha frente.

Eles começaram a marcar um ritmo forte com uma velocidade não muito rápida, mas meu coração já estava pulando para 175 bpm. O ritmo cardíaco estava passando dos 180 bpm toda vez que eu passava dos 32 kms/h. Felizmente outros estavam sofrendo também e decidimos dividir o grupo em dois em Amersfoort. Assim o grupo forte pode seguir e a gente relaxou.

Dalí seguimos na direção de Doorn e finalmente Utrecht. Minhas costas reagiram bem e os exercícios do fisioterapeuta estão dando resultado.

This week was also the return of the weekly Mountain Bike ride.  It was a quite nice ride in the Weide round Hilversum and it will help building up power as it is based on Interval training.
  Esta semana também foi a volta do treino semanal de Mountain Bike. Foi uma volta boa ao redor do Weide em Hilversum. Vai ajudar a treinar força com base em intervalo.
